EuroSIMA, an association at the heart of the European board sports industry, and Surfrider Foundation Europe, a leading NGO for the protection of the ocean, have joined forces. This collaboration has given birth to an innovative environmental standard, dedicated to guiding the boardsports industry towards more sustainable practices. This unique benchmark is the culmination of collaborative work between the teams of our associations, all united by the desire to preserve our most precious playground: the Ocean.

Clear objectives for a strong impact

Our shared mission is clear: to help our industry reduce its environmental impact and align itself with the objectives of the Paris Agreement. The challenges are defined around five major axes:

• build a sober economic model,
• adopt responsible communication,
• stop harmful chemical discharges, reduce plastic use,
• and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

A practical, evolving guide

The reference tool, co-constructed by EuroSIMA and Surfrider Foundation Europe, is intended as a practical decision-making aid. It provides detailed information and advice to help companies identify the environmental issues specific to their activity and draw up appropriate transformation plans. This evolving resource will be regularly enriched thanks to ongoing exchanges and collaboration with industry players.

JOIN THE FORUM DES MÉTIERS DE LA GLISSE IN HOSSEGOR

France Travail de Saint-Vincent-de-Tyrosse et EuroSIMA, en collaboration avec la communauté de communes MACS et la ville d’Hossegor, organisent le mercredi 3 avril 2024 de 13h30 à 17h30 à Hossegor la 5^ème édition du Forum des Métiers de la Glisse.

This event, the only one of its kind in France, is part of the Semaine de l'Emploi Maritime (Maritime Employment Week) program of activities, providing an opportunity to discover careers in the sea, and to meet recruiting companies and training centers.

Previous editions have attracted over 300 people to Hossegor, testifying to the attractiveness of the board sports industry. This flagship industry in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region employs over 4,000 people and generates sales of 1.9 billion euros.

For this ^5th Forum des Métiers de la Glisse, a round-table discussion hosted by Wave Radio will bring together industry experts to open the Forum. The aim of these testimonials is to raise awareness of the board sports industry, its different professions, and its needs in terms of skills and experience, in order to encourage vocations and attract new talent.

It will feature a range of testimonials from managers in marketing, sourcing, production, retail and work-study. 

Throughout the afternoon, students and job seekers will be able to get information, find out about training and jobs, submit their applications or conduct short interviews on the stands of training centers and companies that recruit. The major players in the board sports industry will be there, so get your CVs ready!

Caroline is passionate about textiles of all kinds with 15 years of cumulative experience in fashion-textile retail. She created GreenyBirdDress in 2017 to offer innovative textil solutions, for the benefit of more sensible fashion aligned with our environment. Caroline trains in low-impact materials, textile traceability, supports companies in their materials certification and carries out textile product LCAs for her customers. She is also the exclusive animator of the Fresque de l'Eco-Conception Textile, registered by GreenyBirdDress.

Caroline Schiblersenior consultant. A graduate of ESSEC Business School with a CEMS/Bocconi double degree, Caroline began her career in the financial sector with AXA Investment Managers. As a Senior Consultant, she helps companies and local authorities to define and implement their circular economy strategies. She also runs the Circular Economy Fresco.

Initiated in 2006, the EUROSIMA Beach Party is a friendly surfing competition open to surf business players. In 2020, the EUROSIMA association decided to open the competition to all surfing enthusiasts working in the corporate world.

The EUROSIMA Beach Party becomes the meeting place for corpo surfers.

Its innovative format allows you to spend time on the water (2 rounds of 20 minutes per competitor), promote team spirit and share a convivial moment without forgetting the sporting challenge.
