BREATHTAKING COURAGE
Speaker : Arthur GUÉRIN-BOËRI

I discovered freediving at a very young age. Even then, I was very close to the aquatic element, which I rubbed shoulders with in my hometown, Nice, and in Corsica. I began my freediving career in 2011 at the age of 26.

Since then, I've racked up 5 world championship titles and 8 world records, including the longest distance swum in apnea (105m) under the ice, without fins or wetsuit, on March 8 in Canada. My aim today is to raise public awareness of ecological issues through the practice of my sport, in demanding, sensitive audiovisual productions in which human adventure is combined with sporting achievement.

Since 2017, I've been working as a management lecturer and, through workshops and introductions, I pass on my vision of this sport, of surpassing oneself and of well-being, to practitioners ranging from beginners to experts. Thanks to the reputation I've built up through my titles and records, I'm now turning my attention to discovery and sharing.

Taking risks, surpassing oneself, stress management, personal fulfillment. These are just some of the stimulating subjects I tackle, in interaction with my audience.
