The company
Shaped like a fish hook, the Médoc Atlantique territory stretches over 100 kilometers to the west and 30 kilometers to the east, covering 1,035 km² (one of the largest communities in France), with a permanent population of around 26,000 and a seasonal population of over 210,000. The Communauté de Communes comprises 14 communes: Lacanau, Carcans, Hourtin, Naujac-sur-Mer, Vendays-Montalivet, Queyrac, Vensac, Grayan-et-L'Hopital, Soulac-sur-Mer, Le Verdon-sur-Mer, Talais, St Vivien-de-Médoc, Jau-Dignac-et-Loirac, Valeyrac.
The Communauté de Communes Médoc Atlantique carries out the following functions on behalf of its member communes: Economic development and tourism, town planning, children's services, beach surveillance, coastal protection and erosion control, household waste collection and treatment.
