EuroSIMA at Club France: a day of exchanges, a look at the trials!
We arrived in Paris on Tuesday evening to meet up with theUnion Sport & Cycle (USC ) team at Club France. It was a unique opportunity to discover the exceptional atmosphere of Club France, the beautiful organization of Paris 2024 and to attend some exciting finals to feel its incredible games. Welcomed in the USC VIP area, we took part in a day dedicated to the " outdoor sports commission ", which we run within USC.
Outdoor Sports Commission Conference
On Wednesday morning, our President Jean-Louis Rodrigues opened the day with a general presentation of our projects and an overview of the board sports market. He stressed the importance of this strategic collaboration with USC for the entire industry. Christophe Seiller, our Executive Director, then detailed the major projects underway, including theEuroSIMA Surf Summit to be held in Seignosse on September 26 and 27presenting the provisional program for this major event.
Frédéric Tain, head of Sport Guide and our journalist and responsible economist, addressed the technical aspects of the market, with a focus on sports tourism and its forthcoming international congress. Romain Ferrand, our media manager, introduced his questionnaire project on the surfing market, while Pauline Villard, ECOLOGIC's Sports Equipment Collection and Reuse Manager, presented ECOLOGIC's missions, with a focus on the ASL EPR chain and collection operations, as well as the repair bonus.
Round table with Pauline Ado, Mathias Maallem and Nicolas Dazet: Is surfing a sport?
In the afternoon, after cocktails on the USC stand and a look at the BMX events, we continued the day with a round-table discussion on the theme "Is surfing a sport?". Moderated by Romain Ferrand and Nicolas Dazet, a leading figure in Action Sports marketing, with the participation of Pauline Ado, professional surfer and participant in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and Mathias Maallem, Roxy team manager and former pro surfer, this conference explored the changes and prospects brought about by the integration of surfing into the Olympics for athletes, brands and the public.
