USC ANNUAL CONGRESS: NEW PRESIDENT AND HERITAGE OF THE 2024 OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC GAMES
Last Thursday, theUnion Sport & Cycle (USC) held its Annual General Meeting and Congress at Club France, a key event for the French sports industry. The day was an opportunity to discuss the major issues surrounding the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as to renew the organization's governing bodies. Grégory de Radiguès (Keep Cool) was elected as the new President of USC, succeeding Pascale Gozzi (Sport 2000), who had held the position since 2021.

Grégory de Radiguès said:
" I'd like to pay tribute to the work Pascale has carried out over the last three years, her benevolence and the positive spirit she has instilled in USC. Tomorrow, we must take our share of responsibility for the legacy of the Games. Indeed, it is symbolic that we have elected a President from the Active Leisure and Sporting Merchants college. This underlines our shared determination to promote and develop physical activity and sport for all in our country. This election also reflects the openness of our trade association and our desire to represent all companies in the sports economy."
An Annual Congress dedicated to the legacy of the Games
The Congress also explored the legacy of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games for companies in the sector. Roundtable discussions focused on the economic and social spin-offs of the Games, which represent nearly 11 billion euros for the Ile-de-France region and 181,000 jobs, as well as on the importance of sustaining the gains made in terms of sports participation to combat sedentary lifestyles.
Marie-Amélie Le Fur, President of the French Paralympic and Sports Committee, also stressed the importance of integrating parasport and disability into corporate activities for an inclusive and sustainable impact. The congress concluded with a call for continued commitment to ensure a positive legacy of the Games for France's sports economy.
