#EUROSIMA FAMILY: Oxbow & Recygo

TEXTILE COLLECTION POINTS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH RECYGO

Oxbow is setting up 6 textile collection points in partnership with Recygo, for a more responsible recycling solution close to home. The aim? To offer the community a simple, safe and responsible solution for depositing textile waste, whatever its condition or brand.

GHANA, THE END OF THE LINE FOR OUR FORGOTTEN CLOTHES?

It's a striking image. In Accra, the capital of Ghana, the beaches are sometimes covered with mountains of used clothes, washed up by the waves or dumped in open-air dumps. A shocking reality revealed by "Au fil de l'eau", a moving documentary by Mélie and Victoria "Les Sourires du Ghana" (Be The Change with Oxbow 2024). Their film, at the heart of the project, weaves a strong link between textile pollution, social inclusion and board sports.

The intention is often good: we sort our wardrobes, we deposit our old clothes in textile bins, thinking we're doing something useful. But some of these unsaleable or unusable textiles end up in countries like Ghana, in gigantic second-hand markets. And when the volume exceeds local reuse capacities, landfill sites and marine pollution take over.

OXBOW WANTS A REAL SOLUTION!

In line with its B Corp commitment, Oxbow wants to offer a more local and transparent response to this issue. Since June 2025, a textile collection and recovery system has been deployed in 5 Oxbow spots: Bordeaux, Hossegor, Biarritz, Soorts, Bègles and Mérignac (head office).

OXBOW AND THE RECYGO NETWORK: HOW DOES IT WORK?

  1. DEPOSIT:A 38L collection bin will be set up in each participating store. You can drop off all types of textiles (clothing, household linen, etc.).
  2. MUTUALIZED COLLECTION: The bins are then collected by Recygo, a French player born of collaboration between La POSTE, with its local postal logistics, and SUEZ, expert in waste management.
    waste management.
  3. SORTING & VALORIZATION: Once collected, textiles are sorted by Synergie TLC, then sent to specialized structures such as Nouvelles Fibres Textiles, a French player based in Amplepuis (69).

DEPOSIT, SORT, RECYCLE... LET'S GO!

The scheme will be available from this summer, and you're all welcome to drop off your clothes in our shops. Whether you're an Oxbow customer or just want to do things better, your used clothes are welcome here! This scheme is a first step. It won't solve everything, but it's a concrete way of doing things better, on our own scale. We hope you'll find it useful, and that little by little, it will help things move in the right direction.
