WHAT IS THE ROCA CUP?

The ROCA CUP is a sporting event whose concept is unique in the world. It's a committed competition that combines sporting, environmental, social, artistic and sharing values. Innovative in its formats, the ROCA CUP explores new perspectives for wingfoil. More than a competition, this event illustrates a genuine transversalitý between high-level sport, sport for all, environmental commitment and discovery of the territory. For this third edition, the program promises to be rich and convivial, mixing shows, competitions, initiations, animations and workshops over three days. A unique opportunity to experience memorable moments of sport, discovery and sharing. Event organized by the ECOWAVE association, in partnership with the Rocabella estate and with technical support from the Hyères Kite Association (HKA) and the Hyères nautical base.

 

 

HIS STORY

Flora Artzner, multi-medal-winning athlete in wingfoil, 2022 world champion , engineer for 7 years, decided in 2021 to create the ECOWAVE association, to promote topics related to gender equalitý and environmental impact in sport. In the wake of this, she organizes the ROCA CUP in Hyères, in a friendly, festive, respectful and egalitarian spirit. A highly successful event from the outset!

 

THE PLACE

The ROCA CUP is located on the magnificentAlmanarre beach, in Hyères, Var. A legendary venue for board sports. In 2025, the ROCA CUP site will be expanded to welcome even more participants, brand stands, fun and sports workshops, associations, food trucks, refreshment stands, a concert stage and more. Easily accessible by bike, bus, train or car, the site boasts a large, free parking lot just a few meters from the ROCA CUP.

 

THE COMPETITION

Every year, the ROCA CUP puts on ever more fun and spectacular wingfoil events in a convivial spirit. This year, in addition to the world's best professionals in the discipline, amateurs will be able to take part in the foil sports events - over 100 athletes on the same starting line - which will take place just a few meters from the beach.

 

THEIR COMMITMENTS

ECO RESPONSIBLE

We think it's essential to promote respect for biodiversity in a friendly way . That's why at the ROCA CUP :

• We're keeping the environmental impact of organizing the event to a minimum.
  More than a dozen environmentalassociations will be on hand to offer fun awareness-raising workshops (Surfrider, LPO, Ufolep, Tara, Women for Sea, Varnat, Recyclop, les Petits Débrouillards, etc.).
• The ROCA CUP brings together several elementary school classes to involve as many young people as possible. ECOWAVE is one of the first structures invited by the French Ministry of Sports to Paris to sign the "Eco-responsible Charter for Sports Events" in the presence of the Minister in 2022.

EQUALITY

The Roca Cup is one of the first wingfoil events to make an active commitment to supporting women's practice and gender equalitý in sport.

SPORT AND DISABILITY

Sport can be an incredible means of personal development and inclusion through movement. At the heart of today's sporting landscape, the inclusion of people with disabilities remains a challenge to which we are sensitive at the Roca Cup. The self-censorship of people with disabilities when it comes to practicing sport, the fear of how others will look at them, the lack of infrastructures or adapted structures is a realitý that we are aware of. We want to take an open-minded approach by enlisting the support of specialist organizations (Ufolep, Léon Bérard and others) to ensure that this edition is even more inclusive than previous ones.

A MAJOR EVENT

SPORTS

• 100+ wingfoil athletes on the same starting line.
• Spectacular, unique and friendly competitions, bringing together professionals and amateurs.
• An official "Coupe de France" long-distance boardercross wingfoil competition.
• Fun events in freestyle synchro, parawing, dockstart, SUP foil and more.
• Test equipment and discover wingfoil.
• Fun activities on land and at sea for young and old.

FESTIVE

• A "festival" evening open to all on Saturday evening, combining concerts and DJs.
• A private evening for partners at Rocabella, by invitation only.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND INCLUSIVE

• +10 environmental associations welcome on site free of charge.
• An all-encompassing event designed to limit its carbon footprint and waste.
• An extra welcome for people with disabilities.

 

 

PROGRAMMING 2025

• FRIDAY APRIL 4

Discover wingfoil, free initiations, freestyle show, equipment tests, activities with schoolchildren, numerous free fun workshops all day long, brand stands, brand presentations, associative village, awareness-raising workshops, sports activities, food-trucks, equipment tests and wingfoil show. Private partners' evening at Villa Rocabella - by invitation only.

• SATURDAY APRIL 5

Briefing and launch of the official wingfoil event ("pro-amateur" long-distance boardercross), numerous free fun workshops all day long, brand stands, brand presentations, associative village, awareness-raising workshops, sports activities, food-trucks, equipment testing and wingfoil show. Evening concerts & DJs on the ROCA CUP site.

• SUNDAY APRIL 6

Continuation of the competition heats, numerous free fun workshops all day long, brand stands, brand presentations, associative village, awareness-raising workshops, sports activities, food-trucks, equipment testing and wingfoil show. 16:00 PODIUMS AND AWARDS SPEECH, winners' photos, close of event.
