A GLOBAL SELECTION, TWO DIGITAL WILDCARDS, AN EXCEPTIONAL FINAL

The prestigious Rip Curl GromSearch International Finals, covered by Sun Bum, will be held in Hossegor, France, from November 4 to 8, 2025.

 

Since the 2024 champions were crowned in Bali, the 2025 GromSearch series has traveled the globe with regional events and national finals in North America, Australia, Europe, Indonesia, Brazil, South Africa, and beyond. The goal: to identify the best young surfing talent in the world, boys and girls under the age of 16.

 

This year, 16 young surfers (8 girls and 8 boys) will represent their respective countries in this final, which is already shaping up to be one of the highlights of the fall in Hossegor. Competitors from Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Indonesia, Europe, the United States, South Africa, and two very special guests will be in attendance.

 

 

A UNIQUE DIGITAL SELECTION FOR TWO GLOBAL WILDCARDS

 

Alongside the traditional circuit, the #GromSearchOnline digital competition, open from October 1 to 10, 2025, offered a unique opportunity to all young surfers around the world: post their best surfing video on Instagram or TikTok, hoping to win a ticket to Hossegor.
From the many entries received, two wildcards, one girl and one boy, were selected by Molly Picklum, 2025 World Champion, and Crosby Colapinto, Championship Tour surfer. This world first confirms the opening of GromSearch to a new, ultra-connected and creative generation.

 

 

THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE FROM NOVEMBER 4 TO 8 IN HOSSEGOR

WHERE YOUNG PEOPLE BEGIN TO WRITE THEIR STORY

 

Since 1999, GromSearch has enabled more than 40,000 young surfers under the age of 16 to compete. Past winners include WSL world champions Caitlin Simmers, Caroline Marks, and Gabriel Medina. Other notable names include Championship Tour surfers Erin Brooks, Brisa Hennessy, Samuel Pupo, Leonardo Fioravanti, Tatiana Weston-Webb, Owen Wright, as well as one of the most talented free surfers on the planet, Mason Ho, and many other big names who are making surfing history today.

 

The impact of GromSearch over the past 26 years is undeniable:

• WSL World Tour 2025: Over 60% of current CT athletes are former GromSearch winners.
• Olympic Games: Five of the six medalists from the last two editions participated in the Rip Curl GromSearch.
• WSL World Champions: The last 18 women's titles have been won by GromSearch finalists.
