Ski/snowboard instructors are responsible for teaching skiing/snowboarding to beginners and intermediate level riders. The type of potential learners can vary greatly: children groups, one on one adult classes, club training... an instructor must know how to adapt pedagogically to the different expectations and levels of his/her learners.

Access
Ski / snowboard instructors must pass the Brevet d'Etat d'Educateur Sportif (BEES) - National Certificate of Athletic Educator, 1st level, choosing as an option downhill or cross country skiing, in order to be able to teach. Level 2 is required to become a Departmental or Regional Technical Advisor, and Level 3 is required to become a national level coach.
