Mathieu CREPEL

For Mathieu, the ocean and the mountains are inseparable. Ever since he was a child, he has travelled back and forth, following the seasons, chasing snow in the winter and waves in the summer. At ten years old, he joined the professional snowboarding world on to a trip to Greenland with some of the best snowboarders of the time. At first, he went towards the competitive scene, trying out the national and international tours and travelling the world to win medals. 4 world titles (2005, 2006, 2007 x2), 2 Olympic Games (Torino 2006 and Vancouver 2010) and a silver medal at the X-Games (2010) later, he had exceeded his objectives. While those years were filled with amazing experiences and incredible encounters, travelling from one resort to the next, going back to the same places and staying the same hotels again and again was starting to get old for him. He realized that traveling could involve so much more...

He is the most accomplished French freestyle snowboarder and is recognized as one of the most versatile riders in the world having surfed since his childhood. What started as a simple passion and was a way to recharge between snowboarding competitions eventually became an essential part of his lifestyle. Today he has taken on the challenge of combining is two passions, surfing and snowboarding, which makes him one of the most unique " watermen " out there.

"I also want to share my experience and learn from others. Surfing and snowboarding are vital for me. They give me a connection to nature and have taught me how fragile the environment can be. It drives me to go on adventures, leave the comfort of my home and constantly take on new challenges."

That is why Mathieu has been travelling the world in search of the most amazing mountains and waves in an unprecedented challenge.

The ocean and the mountains are for him an inseparable pair. He joined the professional snowboarding world after a trip to Greenland at the age of 10 with some of the best snowboarders of the time. At first, he turned to competition, first on the national and then on the world circuits, travelling the world in search of medals. 4 world titles (2005, 2006, 2007 x2), 2 participations in the Olympic Games (Turin 2006 and Vancouver 2010), a silver medal in the X-Games (2010) have more than fulfilled his objectives. Magnificent moments and beautiful encounters but he realizes that going to the same places, from hotel to hotel, and from resort to resort is finally rather reductive whereas the trip offers infinite possibilities of discovery...
