A Basque native with a passion for surfing, photography, and travel, Michael Darrigade is a director of photography, cameraman, and filmmaker. Winner of an Emmy Award for 100 Foot Wave (HBO), he is known for his immersive approach and cinéma vérité style. His images capture the raw power of big wave surfers in Nazaré, Hawaii, and elsewhere, but also broader themes, ranging from surfing documentaries (Enfer & Paradis, Where's Sancho?) to current affairs topics such as Ukraine.
