REP Professional Packaging

COMMUNICATION

Environmental Textile Display (ETD)

Together with USC, we are leading a working group on AET. Following an initial meeting in October, we are offering a webinar on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

Mastering environmental labeling for textiles: challenges and practices for the sports sector

This webinar, organized for Union Sport & Cycle members, will bring together ADEME, 2BPolicy, and the Alliance du Commerce to discuss textile environmental labeling (AET). Speakers will present the main stages of labeling deployment and answer all your questions about the operational implementation of AET in the textile and sports sector. ADEME and the ministry will detail the schedule, method, and tools, while 2BPolicy, involved in European labeling and the PEFCR Apparel & Footwear, will explain the challenges of harmonization and the main differences between French and European frameworks. The Alliance du Commerce will shed light on the impacts for distribution and trade. This is a key event for gaining a concrete understanding of the system, anticipating your obligations, and promoting your environmental commitments to your customers.

ADEME Anti-Greenwashing Guide 2025

On the one hand, eco-whitewashing or greenwashing can be punished. On the other hand, responsible communication,eco-design, and sustainable purchasing are the answer to the challenges of greenwashing!

ADEME has published a guide sharing the challenges and best practices of responsible communication. You can use it to:

    1. Better understanding the issues, risks, and regulations
    2. Take action with questions, content, and advice on signs of greenwashing to avoid in your communications. As well as the characteristics of a more responsible message. 3. Deepen your knowledge to raise awareness, get involved, and start training your teams.

All types of content are concerned: advertisements and messages distributed online (pop-ups, newsletters, website content, email signatures), on paper (packaging, flyers, business cards, catalogs, etc.) or on sales websites. This also includes messages that fall within the scope of influencer marketing and are promoted by influencers, as well as statements made by executives in the media, or any other form of communication (goodies or company vehicles carrying an advertising message, etc.).

Four-point solutions:

    1. No more vague slogans—show us the proof. Terms such as "eco-friendly," "green," and "carbon neutral" can no longer be used without methods and figures that are sourced, traceable, verifiable, and accessible to consumers.
    2. Actions, not intentions. We communicate about commitments that have already been implemented.#ecodesign, extending product life, #repairability, etc.
    3. Transparency, including on limitations. We clearly explain what is going well and what remains problematic.

BIODIVERSITY

The National Biodiversity Strategy 2030 makes the protection and restoration of living organisms a priority, with objectives such as reducing pressure on ecosystems, limiting land artificialization, and integrating biodiversity into economic decisions. Here is some news on this topic.

    • Reread article on sports and biodiversity meetings 2025
    • Large companies must publish information on their biodiversity-related impacts, risks, and dependencies in their non-financial reporting (DPEF) and, from now on, through the transposition of the European CSRD directive.

The state also supports voluntary initiatives such as the "Entreprises engagées pour la nature" ( Companies committed to nature) program. This EEN project offers support and visibility on the tools provided by the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB) to promote commitments to its customers, partners, and practitioners, in line with the climate and circular economy initiatives already in place.

    • For those involved in sports and outdoor sports (brands, distributors, site managers, rental companies, event organizers)
    • Opportunity to structure a biodiversity approach around practice sites, products (equipment, textiles, footwear), and outdoor sporting events.
    • Three-step process (membership, definition of a voluntary action plan, monitoring/evaluation), supported by the OFB
    • Methodological guides to identify pressures on living organisms (artificialization, disturbance of wildlife, resource consumption, pollution) and develop a credible and measurable action plan.
    • Obtaining the "Company committed to nature" recognition once the program has been validated.
