We are Akewatu, an international, young and fast growing startup that is disrupting the surfing industry. We connect surfers and shops in a unique marketplace, where surf experts trade, learn & meet. We currently service France, UK, Spain, Portugal and Australia.

This year we are expanding to other markets and categories, we have raised money and growing by +100 for that reason we need to reinforce our finance team with a Controleur de Gestion.

You will be reporting to our Head of Finance and collaborating with HR and others finances partners in 4 countries (France, Spain, Portugal and Australia).

You’ll have an opportunity to work with people from a variety of countries. Our team is partially remote across Europe and at our offices in France and Australia.

We communicate transparently. We have a monthly town hall to discuss company performance and goals.
We mainly use Evoliz to manage accountability reporting.

At Akewatu you will:

  • Be a key part of our finance reporting and budget control.
  • Identify budget gaps and make analysis to support different teams (Marketing, Sales, Dev and management).
  • Manage key providers and payments.
  • Help improve existing flows in our internal HR and finance processes.
  • Create Financial reports (Weekly, Monthly and annual).
  • Co-creation for better cash management and accountability processes

Location flexibility! Our finance team is based in Bordeaux but the company is organized in a remote-first scheme. We are open to any location within the EU and on CET timezone. We have offices in Biarritz or Bordeaux (France), near Lisboa (Portugal).

Profil requis

  • Experience finance and accounting
  • Expertise with Excel
  • Ability to work autonomously with rigor and analysis skills.
  • Experience conducting accountability in France and financial reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and a team player attitude
  • Fluent in French and English (Spanish is a plus)
