Industrial designer

Nature

An industrial designer is an inventor as well as an artist, a technician and an ergonomics technician, who puts his/her talent to use for the brand, while constantly seeking product and potential market improvement. In the board sports industry, the industrial designer mainly works with hardware: technical equipment (surf boards, snowboards, ski, skate…etc). An excellent practical knowledge of board sports is essential in order to be able to offer an adapted product to consumers, while respecting quality requirements. The main difficulty of this position is to combine creativity to functional requirements: marketing, ergonomics, manufacturing and environmental limitations must be respected, as well as the aesthetic perspective. The guarantee of quality, the search for innovation and performance as well as an ethical attitude towards sustainable development are all prerogatives, which the industrial designer must take into account at all levels.
