Photographer

Nature

An independent photographer is above all an artist before a technician. His/her unique sensitivity is what enables him/her to see the world from a different, unique and therefore artistic angle, thus creating interest. Although independent and multi skilled, board sports photographers are however, frequently influenced and subject to variations of meteorological conditions and the people they work with. There are several specialties in board sports photography:
Action/sports photographer: at the heart of the sport, this photographer must be able to capture movements and figures at the first shot. This requires advanced skills and comfort in the aquatic environment for surfing and advanced knowledge and comfort level of mountain environments for snowboard/ski photography.
Product photographer: As a specialist of product imagery (textile, accessories, hardware), the photographer must learn to master light in order to present products under the best possible angle, whether in catalogues, or other communication means and channels. Most frequently, these images are produced in studios.
Fashion photographer: This photographer works at fashion shows and creates «photo shoots» for fashion pages in magazine, trend catalogues… he/she must take into account the decoration and the environment as well as lighting.
