The term « webdesign » refers to the technique of structuring and organising graphic elements of a website in order to translate, through the aesthetic dimension, the visual identity of a brand. This therefore relates to the visual design stage, as opposed to the functional design step (ergonomics, navigation). The Web designer creates visual identities of web sites and defines their graphic charts (scale models, position of graphic elements, choice of images, colours, fonts…etc). The objective of a web designer is to develop and promote the image of a company or organisation thanks to the graphic elements of the web site, which create a reminder of the visual identity and convey a sense of comfort and trust to the user.
