Marketing manager

Nature

The Marketing Manager is in charge of developing and suggesting to management the general ideas relative to the company’s commercial strategy. In order to this, he/she must collect market information relative to client needs and expectations, as well as information relative to the competition. To sell, one must first determine whether the offered services or products respond to client expectations and if they do not, adapt them and put into place strategic marketing operations: advertising and communication, sales promotions, distribution. The Marketing Manager’s role is a double one: on the one hand, he/she develops a strategy relative to company products, by developing marketing plans (market analysis, definition of target, choice of advertising axis), by constantly adapting these plans based on market evolutions, by creating and setting up promotional actions to develop the product and optimise sales. On the other hand, he/she must manage the marketing teams (recruiting, training, motivating…etc), by supervising the development process, the launch of product promotions and coordinating marketing research. Depending on the size of the company, the marketing director may sometimes also be in charge of external communication.
