Working with the marketing team, the Team Manager is responsible for managing athletes sponsored by the brand. Team managers are often retired athletes themselves. However, understanding the sports and competition systems no longer provide the required skills for this position, given its nature in today’s world. Acting as the interface between the brand and the athletes, the team manager must ensure the promotion of the athletes in the media, thus also ensuring brand visibility. Available to the media and athletes 24/7, he/she is constantly travelling with the athletes to competition sites around the world.

Mission

Organisation of all sports activities
Acting as the interface between the brand, the media and the athletes
Ordering the products (clothes, shoes, accessories) to be worn/used by athletes
Supervision of athlete attitudes, behaviours and how they represent the brand
Establishing and following budgets

Being part of the board sports environment is essential in order to be respected and credible. Specialized training and background in management and communications are most appropriate for this type of position.
