#EuroSIMA Family: CETASEA FESTIVAL 2024

ON MARCH 16 AND 17, 2024, THE CAPBRETON CASINO WILL HOST THE CETASEA FESTIVAL

On March 16 and 17, 2024, the Casino de Capbreton will host the CETASEA Festival, the signature event of the CETASEA association, dedicated to the protection of marine life with an ambitious project: the creation of marine mammal refuges in Europe. Under the aegis of Jean-Marc Barr, actor and fervent defender of the oceans, we invite everyone to join in this vital cause.

CETASEA: PROTECTING & PRESERVING

CETASEA is an association dedicated to saving marine mammals, working to raise awareness, educate and conserve the species. Our aim is to create safe havens for marine mammals in Europe, providing a haven for the animals and promoting marine biodiversity. The festival is a manifestation of our commitment, aiming to bring the community together in support of this crucial goal. The participation of specialists such as Thierry Jauniaux, Norin Chai, and Jérôme Pouille, alongside filmmakers Jérôme and Caroline Espla and Manuel Galipienso and Pascale Prêcheur, will enrich the festival with scientific and creative depth, highlighting current issues in marine conservation.

The experts:

  • Thierry Jauniaux, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Professor at the University of Liège, is a world expert on marine mammals. His pioneering work in marine health provides insight into the challenges and difficulties of conservation.
  • Norin Chai, a renowned veterinarian in the Buddhist tradition, integrates a profound spiritual dimension into her approach to animal health. His international experience enriches our understanding of human-wildlife coexistence.
  • Giant panda expert and enthusiast Jérôme Pouille uses his expertise in ecology and sustainable development to promote the protection of endangered species. Internationally recognized, he actively contributes to environmental awareness and the conservation of giant pandas.

The directors :

  • Jérôme and Caroline Espla present their documentaries for Ushuaïa TV, immersing viewers in the beauty and fragility of marine biodiversity.
  • Manuel Galipienso and Pascale Prêcheur, with their film "ANIMALES, POR EL CAMINO DE EN MEDIO", offer a rich and nuanced debate on conservation, bringing together diverse voices from the world of animal protection.
