ESTIA Entreprendre launches a call for projects to join the OLATU technology and innovation business incubator in Anglet, on the Technopole Pays Basque

 

Created in 2012 by the Bayonne Pays Basque Chamber of Commerce and Industry and managed by ESTIA Entreprendre, which has been co-managing it with the EuroSIMA cluster for 10 years, OLATU is launching a call for projects to join its technological and innovative business incubator.

Specialized in supporting the board sports, action sports and lifestyle sectors, the incubator is now opening up to new sectors: responsible textile and fashion industries (in partnership with CETIA and the BALI Chair), as well as maritime and port activities with the Port of Bayonne.

10 new start-ups or projects will be selected in 2024 to receive 1 to 4 years' support at OLATU's premises - 2,300 m2 in the heart of Baia Park, located in Anglet.

 

OLATU support

The aim of this call for projects is to support existing start-ups or project leaders in the following sectors:

• Action Sports & Lifestyle
• Responsible Textile and Fashion Industry
• Ecological Transition and Decarbonization of Maritime and Port Activities

Companies will have the opportunity to connect with specialized partners in close proximity:

• ESTIA engineering school and its technology transfer platforms (energy, composites, ergonomics)
• EuroSIMA, the specialized cluster for the boardsports industry
• Bayonne Commercial Port and Anglet Marina
• CETIA (an innovation platform dedicated to textile and leather recyclability) and Chaire BALI (a teaching and research program bringing together fashion and textile players to collaborate on the industry's environmental, societal and economic transition), experts in textile technologies for circularity.
• ESABIC Sud France, accelerating space technologies for civil applications

 

Startups will benefit from a wide range of services to help them develop their business:

Companies supported by ESTIA Entreprendre & EuroSIMA in Olatu

Since its creation in 2012 by the CCI Bayonne Pays Basque on the Baia Park zone in Anglet, ESTIA Entreprendre & EuroSIMA have supported 80 companies on the Olatu site in incubator, nursery or business hotel.

Among the companies currently or in recent years hosted at Olatu are Wyve (which recently raised €1.1 million to accelerate its development), Hopaal (which opened a new workshop in October after raising €700,000 in participatory funding from its community), Circul'R (experts in the transition of companies and regions towards a circular economy), or Clae, Notox, ToyBoard, Trashboard, Xline Studio, I Clean My Sea, Surf Session, Napco, By The Wave, Electric, Oakley, ASPOM or Abyssa.

 

Practical information & dates to remember

• After each application has been examined by an ESTIA start-up manager, the approval committee, made up of representatives from ESTIA and its partners, will interview the candidates on February 16, April 12, June 14 and September 20, 2024.

Applications must be submitted 2 weeks before the date of the committee meeting.
