#EurosimaFamily: GIP Skateparks de France 's latest study attempts to measure the impact of skateparks in France
GIP Skateparks de France
GIP Skateparks de France is an ecosystem that brings together the main players in the French skatepark industry. The Group also produces market studies and technical documentation. More broadly, the GIP works to develop all intellectual, economic, technical, social and cultural activities likely to enable the creation of skateparks and facilitate their professional development.
Because a Skatepark is a sports facility that creates social links and enhances the influence of the town and its citizens, our association also aims to provide a forum for dialogue and experience-sharing, and to promote a quality and safety approach.
A study model to quantify the impact of a skatepark
Whether they're seaside resorts, mountain towns or urban agglomerations, many local authorities are considering how to renew their image and tourism potential. With this in mind, the GIP Skateparks de France tested a study model this year with a selection of its partner clubs to quantify the impact of a skatepark.

As a social, cultural and sporting hub, a skatepark makes an active contribution to the local economy.
Over and above the methodological points that need to be improved, here are a few figures and lessons that can be drawn from this first information-gathering campaign, even if it means overturning many prejudices:
- 12 skateparks on the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, in the Alps and in urban areas.
- QR codes placed in skateparks, free participation.
- Around 140 responses over 3 months.
Almost nationwide representation, with respondents from all socio-professional classes:
- 27% women,
- 72% adults,
- 60% skateboarders
- 12% companions,
- 84% of stays are not decided by parents,
- 86% of stays are for a weekend, week or more,
- 60% paid stays,
- 89% rank the skatepark among the priorities of their stay,
- 98% will return.
