3D Designer / 3D Computer Graphics

Nature of the position

A 3D designer creates 3D models, visuals, and animations to represent products, prototypes, or immersive environments. They are involved in the product development, presentation, and marketing phases. In the board sports industry, they play a key role in showcasing equipment and brand identities.

Duties and responsibilities

3D Product Design and Modeling
Create detailed 3D models of equipment (surfboards, snowboards, accessories, protective gear, technical footwear, etc.) based on specifications, drawings, or scans. Ensure the accuracy of proportions, volumes, and functionalities to produce renderings suitable for use in production or marketing.

Texturing, Lighting, and Photorealistic Rendering
Apply realistic textures and materials, set up lights and virtual cameras. Produce high-definition renders for technical, marketing, or e-commerce visuals.


3D Animation Production Designing object animations (product rotation, technical demonstrations, component breakdowns) for brand videos, trade shows, client presentations, and social media.

Development of immersive content
Contribute to the production of virtual reality or augmented reality scenes for product presentations in showrooms, at trade shows, or for integration into interactive experiences.

Product Development and Prototyping Support
Collaborate with R&D and design teams to visually test design variations, color schemes, or technical innovations prior to 3D printing or physical prototyping.

Production of visual content for communication
Creating still or animated visuals for catalogs, websites, newsletters, e-commerce platforms, social media, and advertising campaigns.

Graphic and Technology Monitoring
Explore new 3D tools, rendering and animation trends, and immersive formats. Take the initiative to enhance product presentation methods.

Desired profile

Technical Skills
Proficiency in modeling software (Blender, Rhino, Maya, 3DS Max), rendering software (KeyShot, V-Ray, Arnold), and Adobe tools (Photoshop, After Effects). Knowledge of virtual reality or AR is a plus.

Soft Skills
Creativity, curiosity about technology, independence, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Languages
Fluent in French. Technical English required in an international environment or for the use of specialized software.

Education and experience

 A degree in 3D design, computer graphics, animation, product design, or interior design (2–5 years of post-secondary education). 2–5 years of experience in a technical or creative environment.

Hierarchical and functional relationships

Reports to: Design Manager or Art Director.
Internal interactions: Product designers, marketing, product managers, R&D teams, communications.
External interactions: Creative studios, 3D printers, motion design agencies, freelancers.

Outlook
