Industrial designer (hardware)

Nature

The industrial designer is an inventor, an artist, a technician and an ergonomist. He puts his talents at the service of the brand, while worrying about the improvement of the products and the potential markets. His field of action in the field of board sports consists of the hardware part: technical equipment (surfboards, snowboards, skis, skateboards etc.). An excellent knowledge of board sports is essential in order to offer a product adapted to the consumers and respecting the quality standards. The main constraint of this job consists in combining creativity and functional requirements: it is necessary to take into account the contingencies of marketing, ergonomics, manufacturing, environmental standards and the aesthetic dimension. The quality approach, the search for innovation and performance as well as the ethics of sustainable development are prerogatives that the industrial designer must take into account at each stage of his work.
